Book of Revelation Sermon Title Correct Size
PREPARE YOUR HEART FOR THE SERMON BY LOOKING THROUGH THESE SUGGESTIONS THAT WILL ASSIST YOU IN MAKING THE MOST OF OUR TIME TOGETHER HEARING GOD'S WORD.

You will find suggestions for thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.

Carefully Think

  • Read Revelation 3:14-22.
  • What does Jesus know about this church?
  • What is the significance of Jesus knowing their deeds?
  • What was the attitude of the church members as described in verse 17? How might this have impacted their view of Christ?
  • How does Jesus describe their condition in verse 17? What do those descriptions refer to?
  • What three things does Jesus offer instead in verse 18? What do these signify?

Prayerfully Meditate

  • Why is it good to be reproved and disciplined by God?
  • Even with all their disobedience and indifference to him, what was Jesus’s response to them in verse 19?
  • Jesus shows His love for them in giving them a chance to repent. How does this merciful action of Jesus move you to obey and follow him fully?
  • Look at verse 20. Do some study and find out what this means. Is this letter addressed to unbelievers or believers in the church? Look for the answer in this text.
  • What is the promise to the one who overcomes? How does this promise influence your personal hope? How does this hope influence how you live?
