Living in Light of God
Prepare your heart for our Sunday Morning Gathering by looking through these suggestions that will assist you in making the most of our time together.

You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.

Please see the Preparing for the Sermon post for suggestions in thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.

Intentionally Act

  • The seraphim are sinless creatures, and yet they still cover their faces and feet in the presence of the holy, holy, holy LORD of hosts. How should we, who are sinners saved by grace, approach God in prayer and worship?
  • One commentator on this passage says that Isaiah’s experience illustrates how any believer can identify sin by having a clear vision of the holiness of God. How can you be pursuing a clearer vision of God’s holiness this week?
  • There are numerous songs and hymns that praise God’s holiness. Consider creating a playlist or consulting a hymnal on songs that focus on God’s holiness and listening to them on your commute or with your family.
  • God’s holiness magnifies His glory (verses 1-4), our sin (verse 5), and the great need for the gospel (verses 6-7). As you consider God’s holiness this week, look for ways you can praise God’s glory, confess your sinfulness, and thank God for Christ’s sacrifice that takes away your iniquity.
  • Click the links below to find the lyrics and recordings of the songs planned for our gathering this Sunday; practice the songs, study the lyrics and sing together.
  • Pray for those leading our corporate gathering this week and for the Holy Spirit’s work as the Word of God is further explained and applied: Colton Honingman: music; Brett Harris: elder prayer & scripture reading; Sam Karl: teaching.
