Prepare your heart for our Sunday Morning Gathering by looking through these suggestions that will assist you in making the most of our time together.

You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.

Please see the Preparing for the Sermon post for suggestions in thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.

Intentionally Act

  • Read through Exodus 5 again, meditating on the fickle hearts of men and the faithfulness of God.
  • Pray for our hearts to be strengthened and encouraged by seeing more of who God is and who we are as elect believers - that were just as the rest of the world in our sin, yet he has chosen us for His good purposes (Ephesians 2:1-10).
  • Pray that our hearts would be ready to receive the preached words of the the Old Testament, which is the fundamental framework for the gospel (Who is God? Who is man? What is our need of a Savior/Messiah? What is our response to this Savior/Messiah?).
  • Pray that our hearts would respond in action to the Words of Truth and that we would not just be hearers, but also doers of the Word (James 1:21-25).
  • Click the links below to find the lyrics and recordings of the songs planned for our gathering this Sunday; practice the songs, study the lyrics and sing together.
  • Pray for those leading our corporate gathering this week and for the Holy Spirit’s work as the Word of God is further explained and applied: Dawson Bryant: music; Sam Karl: elder prayer & scripture reading; Bret Capranica: teaching.
