Living in Light of God
Prepare your heart for our Sunday Morning Gathering by looking through these suggestions that will assist you in making the most of our time together.

You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.

Please see the Preparing for the Sermon post for suggestions in thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.

Intentionally Act

  • Read Ephesians 1:1-3-14, Psalm 115:3, and Psalm 139:13-18 again
  • How does your thinking about God’s sovereignty need to change? How does your heart toward the teaching of the Bible about God’s sovereignty need to change? Ask the Lord to incline your heart, open your eyes, and give you understanding concerning the Bible’s teaching about God’s sovereignty.
  • How should understanding, believing in, and delighting in God’s sovereignty over all things impact your life? Consider the circumstances of your life this week – how would resting in God’s sovereignty impact your response to those circumstances?
  • Make a chart with 2 columns. In the column on the left, list your troubles, worries, and anxieties. In the column next to it, list how a biblical view of and trusting in God’s sovereignty would impact the list on the left. Share with another believer and discuss how to move forward by faith in God’s sovereignty.
  • Click the links below to find the lyrics and recordings of the songs planned for our gathering this Sunday; practice the songs, study the lyrics and sing together.
  • Pray for those leading our corporate gathering this week and for the Holy Spirit’s work as the Word of God is further explained and applied: Dawson Bryant: music; Brett Harris: elder prayer & scripture reading; Terry Engling: teaching.
