2 Thessalonians Sermon Image Square
Prepare your heart for our Sunday Morning Gathering by looking through these suggestions that will assist you in making the most of our time together.

You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.

Please see the Preparing for the Sermon post for suggestions in thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.

Intentionally Act

  • How have you wrongfully put others to shame? How might you be tempted to avoid this task? List out potential pitfalls of both of these ditches.
  • After studying chapter 3:6-15 of 2 Thessalonians, are there any persons you may need to consider adjusting your association with them? What should change?
  • How might you evaluate relationships in the future to better guard the church against those living unruly lives and those not adhering to instruction?
  • How have you pursued admonishment of others? How have you set up relationships to receive admonishment when necessary? Consider steps you can take to strengthen these areas of your personal and corporate discipleship.
  • Pray for those in need of repentance in the body. Pray also for your own heart to be humble to repent of sin and be guided by the Spirit as he leads you to conviction of your sin now and in the days ahead.
  • Click the links below to find the lyrics and recordings of the songs planned for our gathering this Sunday; practice the songs, study the lyrics and sing together.
  • Pray for those leading our corporate gathering this week and for the Holy Spirit’s work as the Word of God is further explained and applied: Dawson Bryant: music; Rob Stouffer: elder prayer & scripture reading; Bret Capranica: teaching.
