Significance of the Reformation

Prepare your heart for our Sunday Morning Gathering by looking through these suggestions that will assist you in making the most of our time together.

You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.

Please see the Preparing for the Sermon post for suggestions in thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.

Intentionally Act

  • How do you view the act of God's grace in relation to your salvation and faith? The focus of works in this passage indicates that the human-race perpetually tries to do something to work for or obtain all that we do, including our salvation.
  • Dwell on all things that permeate your life. Marriage, friends, children, work, social life, media (video, audio, digital, print, etc.). What package does the world present as "grace?" How does that package compare with other world religions?
  • Evaluate that message compared to Scripture and see where there is a misleading influence.
  • How does the message of God's grace impact the way you fulfill the command to go and make disciples of all nations?
  • How does the message of God's grace impact your daily life with the groups above?
  • Look for ways to repent of working in place of grace, and repent of grace in place of working (i.e. forgiveness verses killing sin).
  • Click the links below to find the lyrics and recordings of the songs planned for our gathering this Sunday; practice the songs, study the lyrics and sing together.
  • Pray for those leading our corporate gathering this week and for the Holy Spirit’s work as the Word of God is further explained and applied: Dawson Bryant: music; Sam Karl: Elders' prayer & Scripture Reading; Brett Harris: teaching.
