Intentionally Act
- Pray that we will appreciate all portions of Scripture, even the genealogies. Ask the Lord to show us his purposes for recording this list of names, to cherish God’s kindness and wisdom in recording this for us, and that our affection for our Lord would grow as a result of this passage being proclaimed this Sunday.
- Thank the Lord for his grace and faithfulness to fulfill the promises he made in the first nine chapters of Genesis. Stand in awe of the wisdom of God in the unfolding of his perfect plans for mankind.
- Search the Scriptures and recall how each of these nations played a role in the history of Israel leading up to the birth of Christ. Consider and meditate on why this is crucial for the unfolding of God’s plan in the Messiah.
