Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father, as we gather this morning, we give thanks that no matter what trials and temptations we face, we will always be secure in you

In Christ, we have salvation and an anchor for our souls

He is the one who is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to You through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for us

It is You who search us, Lord and know all our ways

You know when we sit, and you know when we rise-you understand all of our thoughts, even when we do not

You keep hold of us and lead us by Your hand

When it seems we may be overwhelmed by darkness, we find comfort in knowing that in You there is no darkness-the night is as bright as the day

Darkness and light are alike to You

We know that You formed our inward parts-and that you wove us in our mother’s womb

Your eyes have seen our unformed substance, and, in your book, you have written all the days that you have ordained for each of us-long before there was even one of them

Your thoughts are precious to us, O Lord.  How vast is the sum of them-if we could count them, they would outnumber the sand

Search each of our hearts, today and everyday Lord.

Try us and know our anxious thoughts and hurtful ways and teach us to trust and obey you

You are the anchor for our souls-hold us fast and lead us in Your everlasting way

It is in Christ’s name that we pray-Amen.
