Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Glorious Father,

We desire to worship you with all that we are and exalt you more than we humanly ever could. We desire a “thousand tongues to sing our great redeemer’s praise”. We want “All creatures of our God and King, to lift up their voices and with us sing” Or as we just sang, we want “all of your wondrous works to join us in declaring your praise”

Because we worship the one true God YAWEH, whose name alone is exalted; and His glory is above earth and heaven.”  (Psalm 148: 13).

We praise you for speaking the heavens and the earth into existence, for you alone can do that. Your power alone can establish a decree which will never be altered. Your truth O Lord is everlasting.

Your glory far exceeds what all of earth and heaven can ascribe to you. It is beyond our comprehension.

We praise you El-Shaddai, for there are no equals to you, our God. Your name and your glory are not limited to our earth or our galaxy. Your glory exceeds the ever expanding skies that we have no clue about.

God of all glory, there is no God like you who is awesome in His power and majestic in His glory, who is unparalleled in justice, righteousness and mercy, who is incomparable in His omniscience and immaculate in brilliant holiness.

And yet your lovingkindness is equally great toward us – while we were yet sinners your only begotten Son died for us. You showed us what true love is at the cross. Thank you.

We are privileged to worship you as our God and be your children by your grace.

Spirit of the Living God, please help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1), please help us to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).

Father, that’s how you have ordained that we worship you with our lives. Please help us to that end.

We pray this in the name of the sinless Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
