Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday

Abba Father (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6-7),

We praise you and thank you God, for being our Father.

You are our creator. You gave us physical and spiritual life. You give us our daily bread for our physical sustenance and your holy word for our spiritual sustenance. We thank you.

As a father has compassion on his children, you our Heavenly Father continually have compassion on us. You know of our fragile frame and yet you are mindful of us (Psalm 103:13-14). We thank you and praise you for that.

We thank you for loving us and giving us your only sinless begotten Son that we might be brought back from the dead and live for righteousness (John 3:16; Romans 5:17).

We thank you for blessing us with the Indwelling Holy Spirit who is leading us into all truth (John 16:13), helping us to put to death the deeds of the flesh (Romans 8:13), and is the pledge of our inheritance to be yours alone forever and ever (Ephesians 1:14).

We could not have done anything to deserve such an unconditional love from our Triune God. It is all your immeasurable grace. We thank you.

Father God, just like our Savior and Lord Jesus subjected Himself to you, that YOU would be all in all (1 Corinthians 15: 28), we surrender and subject ourselves to you that YOU alone would be all in all – in each of our lives and beyond.

Gracious Father, please forgive our small thoughts of you. Please, may we have proper Biblical understanding of our absolute sovereign God whose righteousness, might, wisdom, mercy and love have no limit.

Please bless us with the same mindset that our Lord Jesus had to seek you first and honor you in everything He did. Please help us to honor you in whatever we think or say or do.

Please be glorified and may your name alone be hallowed through the lives and responses of these unworthy servants of yours.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21).
