Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father, we come humbly before you today, dependent as always on your sovereign goodness and provision of grace in each of our lives.

As each of us faces difficult circumstances-through the storm and through the night, may it increasingly be our habit to wait on you-to rely always on the wisdom of your word to guide us.

There are those of us here today, and those who for various reasons are not able to be with us-who may be struggling physically and perhaps spiritually-fearing life’s circumstances.

When we are tempted to fear, may we put our trust in you and not be afraid because ultimately it is you who knows and ordains all the circumstances and days of our lives.

As the psalmist says:

You have taken account of our wanderings;
You have put our tears in Your bottle.
We know that You are for us, no matter what

Therefore, it is in You alone that we put our trust so that we need not be afraid.
You have delivered our souls from death,
You keep our feet from stumbling,
So that, no matter what trials we face, we may walk before You.

You have sent your Son to make a way for us-to pay the price for our sin.

Those who trust in Him today ultimately find healing in His sacrifice.

Through Him we have peace now and for eternity-reconciled to You forever.

Thank you, Lord, it is in Jesus’ precious name we pray-Amen.
