Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father as we come before you this morning, we ask that you open our eyes so that we may behold all the wonderful things from your word as we sing together, pray together, and listen to it being taught.

Your testimonies are our delight-they are our counselors.

This morning and every day that you give us on this earth, may we meditate on your precepts and regard all your ways.

May we always find delight in your statutes-never forgetting Your word; knowing that it finds application in every matter of the heart.

Help us each day to walk in the path of your commandments and find delight in them,

To store up your word in our hearts that we might not sin against you.

Incline our hearts to your testimony and teach us not to sin against you and each other-and when we do may we be quick to repent and forsake our sin.

Turn our eyes away from looking at vain things and instead help us to train our gaze on you.

Teach us discernment and knowledge-for you are good and do good-teach us your ways and your statutes.

Remind us that there is good in the affliction that we suffer, because from it we learn your statutes and we learn to rely on you and not ourselves because it is you who rule over all things.

Your word is settled in heaven-your faithfulness continues throughout all generations.

You established the earth, and it is only because of you that it stands.

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous ordinances is everlasting-

You alone have the words of life-give us ears to hear and eyes to see-today and every day-

It is in Christ’s holy name we pray-Amen.
