Elder's Prayer

Prayer adapted from The Revelation of Jesus Christ Sermon by Dr. Bret Capranica.

Our Loving Heavenly Father,

We thank you for allowing us to come to you, know you, and be your children through our Lord Jesus Christ for He alone is the way, the truth and the life to become your true worshippers.

We thank you for speaking to us in the last days through your Holy Son and this detailed vision to John and commanding him to record this revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ for our edification and nourishment of our souls.

We praise you for the characteristics we learn of our Savior Christ Jesus from this book.

We praise you Lord Jesus that eternal peace with Holy Father can only be received through you. We thank you for your faithful witness.

We praise for you are the first born of the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth, as our risen King.

We thank you for you loved us and freed us from our sins by your precious blood.

By your purest grace, we are no longer outsiders for you made us a kingdom and priests to our God.

Lord Jesus, to you alone belong glory and dominion forever and ever.

We thank you, “Amen, the Faithful and the True Witness”, for you are coming soon and will be coming like a thief unannounced, sitting on a white horse and when you come with the clouds, every eye will see, even those who pierced you as well as all the tribes of the earth who will wail on account of you. We are looking forward to your coming.

We praise you Son of God for you are the Alpha and the Omega, the Lord God, the One who is, the One who was, and the One who is to come.

We bow down before you for you are the Almighty. We ascribe greatness to you for you are the Word of God.

Son of Man, who is in the midst of the lamp stands, clothed in a long robe with a golden sash around His chest, whose hairs of His head are white like wool - white as snow - whose eyes are like a flame of fire - whose feet were like a burnished bronze refined in a furnace - whose voice is a like the roar of many waters, we worship you.

We fall prostrate before you the root of David, for in your right hand, you hold the seven stars and from your mouth comes a sharp two-edged sword and your face shines like the Sun in its full strength.

Lord Jesus, you are the first and the last, the living One – The One who died and is alive forevermore because you have the keys of the death and hades as the Son of God.

You are the Holy One, the true One, the One who has the key of David, the One who opens, and no one will shut, and the One who shuts and no one will open.

The beginning of God’s creation and the Lion of the tribe of Judah, we praise for you have conquered and you alone can open the scroll in heaven.

The Lamb of God who has been slain and has 7 horns and 7 eyes and the One before whom the 24 elders and the 4 living creatures fall down to worship, we join them in worshipping you.

Lord Jesus, you are the One who ransomed the people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation by your blood.

You alone are worthy to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing forever and ever.

We praise you King of Kings and Lord of Lord, for you will reign forever and ever - making war in righteousness in judgement of the earth.

Faithful and True, on your head are many diadems and a name written on you that no one knows but yourself, and yet you are clothed in a robe dipped in blood because you died for our sins, transgressions and iniquities.

Lord Jesus Christ, Savior, Rabboni, Chief Shepherd, Head of the body, our bridegroom, the bright and morning star, Son of God, Son of Man, Son of David, thank you for this privilege of worshipping you.

We come in to your Father’s and our Father’s presence confidently in your matchless name, Amen.
