Elder's Prayer

Gracious Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your love that has been poured out within our hearts through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Thank you for sending your beloved begotten Son at the right time to become one of us in all humility, be tempted more than we ever could imagine and yet live a perfect sinless life in order to credit His righteousness to us and die for us as the Lamb of God who takes away sins of the world.

We thank you Christ Jesus, for your propitiation that demonstrated the righteousness and grace of God upon these unworthy slaves of yours.

We thank you Son of David, for the forgiveness of sins, reconciled relationship with God Most High, our Father through your holy sacrifice that we might stand holy, blameless, and above reproach before the Holiest of Holies.

What a contrast from when we belonged to the domain of darkness. We were ungodly, wicked, shameless, arrogant, vile, abominable and full of reproach.

We deserved death. Thank you for transferring us into the domain of light and life.

We thank you for saving us from your wrath and condemnation that we rightly deserved through the blood of the unblemished ram, our Messiah, the Suffering Servant.

Please help us to fear God and keep His commandments all our lives. Please bless us with the fear of God that Joseph had, that Daniel and friends had and help us shun sin in the same way they feared God and shunned sin.

Master God, until you come or call us home, please keep back your servants from presumptuous sins, let them have dominion over us. Our Rock and Redeemer may the words of our mouth and meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight now and forever.

You alone are our rock of refuge, and we glory in you, our Lord Jesus. We surrender our redeemed lives into your hands. Please may we be found faithful when you return for your bond servants. Please use us for your glory in accordance with your purposes.

We pray this in the name of the Lion of Judah, our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
