Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father, we come before you to give thanks for your faithfulness.

As the prophet reminds us, your steadfast love never ceases, your mercies never come to an end-they are new every morning-your faithfulness is great.

We thank you for the faithfulness you demonstrated in Rebecca’s life in pursuing her to the point of surrender at the Cross.

You did this in spite of her stubbornness-the type of stubbornness we all at one time or another demonstrate in our own lives.

We thank you for using Clif and Diane to gently and persistently pursue her.

We give thanks that we are privileged to share in her testimony and baptism today.

We are thankful, as Rebecca reminded us in her testimony, that you patiently bring each of us to maturity in Christ when we seek you.

And rather than being conformed to the world you transform us daily by renewing our minds in your word and by your spirit.

Thank you, Lord, for the joy of this day-help us to rest in your faithfulness-it is in Christ’s name we pray-Amen.
