Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Psalm 65:1-8

Praise is due you, O God in Zion and to you shall vows be performed.

O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come.

When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions.

Blessed is the one you choose to bring near, to dwell in your courts!

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!

By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness. O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas;

The one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might;

Who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.

You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

Praise is due you O God…you are perfectly holy and above reproach

Though you are perfectly holy, you still allow us to come into your presence, you have every right to destroy us because of our iniquity, yet you do not

Though our sin is great, you have chosen to forgive us and make atonement for us through your son

This morning, you have allowed us to see a glorious example and testimony of your loving kindness, providence and provision for us

We are indeed blessed with the hope of dwelling in your courts for all of eternity and in this we shall be satisfied, infinitely more than satisfied.

We are humbled by your awesome work in our lives through your mercy and grace

You are the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.

By your strength you have built mountains and formed oceans, by your words you calm the roaring waves

All who trust in you and your undeserved provision for salvation will for all of eternity stand in awe of you...

In the name of Jesus’ name I pray...
