Read Titus 1:5-16 again
Why does the content of these verses matter for the average church member?
How might an elder “refute those who contradict” sound doctrine? What does that practically look like?
In your own words summarize the main point of the passage in one sentence.
In your own words summarize the qualifications for an elder.
In your own words explain how this passage speaks to the importance of an elder being able to hold fast to the gospel and the Word of God.
How can you begin to cultivate these noble attributes listed for elders in your own life as a Christian seeking after Christ?
Pray for your elders in light of this passage that they would continue to exhibit these characteristics.
Pray that God would continue to raise up faithful men to be elders here and beyond.
Confess ways you might be in need of reproof and seek out an elder(s) to pray for and shepherd you in those areas.
