Prepare your heart for our Sunday Morning Gathering by looking through these suggestions that will assist you in making the most of our time together.
You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.
Please see the Preparing for the Sermon post for suggestions in thinking more critically through the passage, meditating more intently on the text, and prayerfully seeking wisdom to deepen your understanding of the passage to be preached this Sunday.
Intentionally Act
- Prayerfully and intentionally seek to do good to others at the corporate gathering this week. Write out three specific ways you can apply this passage this coming Sunday and follow through.
- Seek the Lord’s grace for the times that you have sought your own desire at the expense of others, and if possible, seek the forgiveness of those you have wronged. If you have been wronged, seek to forgive those who have wronged you, not harboring bitterness towards them.
- Pray for the body of Christ in specific ways this week. Pray that when we come together it will be for the corporate good. Pray for unity within Summit Woods, both in terms of heart attitudes toward one another, and in terms of practical outworking. Pray for the Lord’s grace toward us that we would put to death the sinful, selfish desires within us that place ourselves above others, and pray that we would be like our Lord who humbled himself to the point of death to die for sinners like you and me.
