Critically Think
- Read Revelation 21 and Revelation 22 to review the context for the verses this week.
- Read Revelation 22:1-5. How do these verses connect to Revelation 21?
- What objects found in this verse are also found in Genesis 1 and 2?
- What does the “water of life” and “tree of life” provide? Read Genesis 3 also to help along with Revelation 7:17, 21:6, and John 4.
- Where else in Revelation has a name been written on someone?
- Read Number 6:22-27, think through any similarities with Revelation 22:1-5.
Prayerfully Meditate
- How do these items point to a reversal of the curse found in Genesis 3?
- Think through the relationship of God, the Lamb, and his bond-servants according to these verses. What does this verse indicate our eternal position will be?
- Think through the abundance of “life” in these verses. Can you comprehend the eternal nature of life that God is desiring to provide us? What joy does that bring?
- What healing comes to the nations through God bringing a new capital city?
Intentionally Act
- What frustrations do you have today because we lack eternal life in abundance? Reflect on how this affects your response to God now and others.
- Look for the right response to God now for his future promised eternal life and relationship with HIm.
- Cultivate a heart now that sees Christ in our redemption, through His blood, our forgiveness, and also our sanctification. How have you been pursuing to be more like Christ this week?
