Critically Think
- Read Revelation 21:22-27, include 21:1-21 for context if needed.
- What and where is the place spoken of in this passage? Where did it come from?
- How is this place illuminated?
- How will the rest of the world be involved with this city?
- Who is allowed entry and who will be restricted?
- List the ways this city will be different than any other city we know of.
Prayerfully Meditate
- Describe the presence of the Lord in this city.
- Why would there not be any night in this place?
- What will the kings and nations bring to the city? What do you think that is exactly?
- How are those restricted from the city described?
- What does it mean to have your name in the Lamb’s book of life? Also see Philippians 4:3, Rev. 3:4-5.
Intentionally Act
- What kind of expectation does this passage set for the future?
- Considering those who are described as being allowed entry, contrasted with those restricted from the city, has this passage revealed any sin in your life or heart? Repent and turn from it.
- How could this passage be used in your witness of the Gospel to an unbeliever?
- Pray for our congregation’s reception of the Word of God and their reflection of the Lord in the world around us.
