- Read Revealtion 15:1-8
- What were the previous signs John saw? How are these to be understood?
- How is this sign described?
- How are the plagues described here? Where does this fit on the timeline of the book of Revelation and in relation to chapter 14?
- Who is described in v. 2? How are they described? How is their description related to the point of the book?
- What songs did they sing? How does this reflect a pattern we’ve seen in Revelation?
- What is the content of their song? Of what are they singing? Why?
- How do vv. 3-4 fit within the context of the chapter?
- Describe the scene of vv. 5-8.
- What is the tabernacle of testimony? Why does John describe it this way?
- How are the bowls of wrath connected to the plagues?
- What temple is being spoken of in v. 8?
- Where is the smoke coming from?
Prayerfully Meditate
- Where else in Revelation is the word “plagues” used? What is the biblical significance of this word?
- Why is God described as the one “who lives forever and ever” here?
- What other passages throughout the Bible sound like v. 8? What is their connection?
Intentionally Act
- How should this passage fuel your worship? Inform your understanding of eschatology? Drive your life this week?
