  • Read Revelation 14:6-12. Who is involved in this passage? List their titles or descriptions. If you can identify them from other parts of the book, include some texts (chapters or verses) where they are present.
  • What commands are given in this passage?
  • How does Babylon affect the world according to this passage?
  • How will those who worship the beast and his image be recognized? What will happen to them?
  • What all is stated about God the Father and Jesus in this passage?
  • How are believers referred to in this passage? What is stated about them?
  • Describe the extent of punishment for those who worship the beast and his image.
  • How is the message of the first angel different from that of the second angel?

Prayerfully Meditate

  • How are you obeying the commands listed in this passage? On what basis are you making your evaluation?
  • Describe what perseverance looks like in your life. What will it look like for believers in the context of this passage?
  • In your own words, what warnings are given in this passage?
  • How does this passage make you more thankful for salvation through Jesus?
  • How does this passage make you more thankful for salvation through Jesus?
  • Read Psalm 75:8, Jeremiah 25:15, Isaiah 51:17-20, and Obadiah 16. What do these passages add to the biblical theme of the cup/drinking?
  • Read Isaiah 51:21-22, Psalm 116:13, John 18:11, Matthew 26:39, and Revelation 16:19. What do these passages add to your understanding of the biblical theme of the cup/drinking?

Intentionally Act

  • Read Revelation 14:6-12 again.
  • Could you be characterized as obeying vs. 7? Is any aspect of your life tainted by immorality that is common place in the world? Explain.
  • Repent of any sin that came to light in your life during the study of this passage. What truths of scripture could be used to renew your mind and combat this sin? What should you put on in Christ in place of this repented sin?
  • How would you describe the perseverance of faith in your own life?
  • Describe how this passage could be used in your communication of the gospel with someone you know who is not a believer.
