• How are these commands related?
• What is the motivation(s)/compelling reason(s) given for obedience to these commands?
• Who is supposed to obey these commands? Are they different or the same for each command?
• What attributes of God are listed in this Psalm?
• What does it mean to shout joyfully? How do you know?
• How does the superscript inform the content of the Psalm?
• How is God going to judge the world according to the Psalm?

Prayerfully Meditate

• Summarize the main idea of this psalm in 21 words or less.
• What are the different methods given as means to obey the commands of this psalm? (For example: Singing praises with a lyre). Make a list for each command.
• What lines show evidence of parallelism in this psalm? How do these parallel lines show emphasis or deepen your understanding of the meaning of certain lines?
• Why might the psalm mention that God remembers his lovingkindness and faithfulness? What does this mean? Does God forget other things?
• Why did the psalmist focus on the specific attributes of God listed in the psalm? How do they fit with the main idea of the psalm?
