You will find tangible suggestions for putting scripture to action in your personal life and in our corporate body, links to the songs we will sing, and lyrics for you to prepare for our corporate singing.
Critically Think
- Read Exodus 25.
- Where is Moses in Exodus 25 and what is he doing?
- What did Yahweh ask Moses to do in vs. 2-7? What types of materials are requested.
- What does God want them to make for him (vs. 8)? Who does he want to make it? Why does He want it?
- Who is the ultimate architect planner of the sanctuary (vs. 9)? How specific are the instructions?
- What are the first 3 items God has directed the sons of Isreal to make for the tabernacle?
- What precious metal was used in all three?
- According to vs. 21, what is put on top of the Ark and what was placed in the Ark?
- What two things was God going to do with Moses from the place on top of the Ark (vs. 22)?
- What was made in vs. 23 and for what purpose? When are these items supposed to be present?
- What images are used to make the lampstand? How many branches are there? What was its purpose?
Prayerfully Meditate
- According to vs. 2, was the contribution mandatory or forced? What is the heart condition specified in the New Testament for giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7.
- Why did God name the place above the Ark of the Testimony (where the Ten commandments were placed) the ‘Mercy Seat? What is the correlation between the two.
- How does God dwell (tabernacle) among us now. See John 1:14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 3:16.
- What was the purpose of the Bread in the tabernacle? What does it symbolize about Gods Prescence?
Intentionally Act
- God wants your ‘willing heart’ in your giving of your time, talent, and treasure. Prayfully consider if you are giving out of duty or desire.
- Prayerfully consider how you can contrubute your time, talents, and treasure to the work of the Lord.
- The Lord asks for the best and most valuable items to go into the construction plans given in Exodus 25. Prayerfully consider if you are offering the Lord your best or only the leftovers.
- How would you sumarize this passage in 21 words or less?
