• Read Acts 18:18-21 and Acts 19 for the account of Paul’s time in Ephesus. What are the highlights?
• According to Acts 20:17-38 how did Paul conduct himself during his time in Ephesus?
• What was Paul engaged in during his time in Ephesus?
• What was the aim of Paul’s ministry among the Ephesians?

• What is the content of Paul’s Charge to the Ephesian elders?

Prayerfully Meditate

• What overall picture do we gain of the character, methods, and aim of Paul as a missionary in this passage? How does this inform our view of missions?
• Consider 20:24. How might you personally take Paul’s words to heart in your own life?
• Read 20:32. Where does Paul’s confidence in this verse come from? How can you find stability in the truth of this verse?

Intentionally Act

• Pray that the Lord would raise up among us those who have the character and competence to be sent out as gospel workers.
• Pray that our elders would be on guard for themselves and for the flock here at Summit Words were God has placed them as overseers.
• Consider in your personal evangelism how you might imitate Paul by not shrinking to declare the whole purpose of God. What would this look like?
