Preparing Your Heart for the Table

  • Read 1 Corinthians 10:16-17. What does the cup at the Lord’s table suggest?
  • What does 1 Corinthians 10:17 suggest about us when we take the bread together?
  • Read 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. What does it mean to “remember” the Lord when you take of the elements?
  • How are you examining yourself and your relationship to the rest of the church when you are taking the elements of the Lord’s table?
  • What does your relationship to the congregation suggest about how you view Christ’s body as you take the elements? What should be stronger? How could it be stronger?

Prepare Your Mind Today to Remember Christ

  • Read through the accounts of His crucifixion (Matthew 27; Mark Mark 15; Luke 23; John 19).
  • Think through the gospel message. Why did He die? What did He accomplish for you when He died? What should be the evidence in your life of the value of His death?

Intentionally Act

  • Pray for those who will be leading the service this week: Dawson Bryant, music; Sam Karl, Elders' Prayer and Scripture Reading; Bret Capranica, teaching.
  • Meditate on the lyrics of the songs we will sing. How do they prepare your heart in remembering Christ? Pray through the lyrics and listen to them in anticipation of singing with the church this Sunday.
