It is the mission of Summit Woods Baptist Church to magnify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:18-20). While we believe the primary responsibility for the disciple making of children belongs to their parents (Eph 6:4), in light of the great commission, we also believe the local church has a significant role in coming alongside parents in this disciple making process. To that end, we offer a number of children’s ministries where the local church can teach children God’s Word in order to plant and water the seeds of the gospel, and pray that God would cause the growth (1 Cor 3:7). One of the primary teaching settings for children is during our children’s Truth 4 Kids (T4K) hour.

At approximately 11:00 am, during the final song before the sermon, children are dismissed for T4K. There are 3 classes: pre-k, K-2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grade. The Pre-K class meets on the 1st four Sundays of the month and the K-2nd and 3rd-5th grade classes meet the 1st three Sundays of the month. During this time children are taught systematic theology at their level by caring and loving teachers in a very interactive environment. Our pre-k class utilizes this material (https://www.truth78.org/he-established-a-testimony) by Truth78 (formerly Children Desiring God), and K-5th grade classes use this material (https://gracecurriculum.org/pages/about-adventure-club) by Grace Community Church.

The pre-K T4K class works through stories from the Old and New Testaments to teach big truths about various areas of systematic theology. The K-5th grade classes systematically work through the 9 areas of systematic theology, discovering what the Bible teaches about God the Father (theology proper), God the Son (Christology), God the Holy Spirit (Pneumatology), the Bible (bibliology), the church (ecclesiology), the end times (eschatology), mankind (anthropology), sin (hamartiology), and salvation (soteriology).

We have so many faithful people serving in these classes, giving themselves to caring for and teaching our kids these wonderful truths of the Scriptures.

Please pray for these teachers to faithfully study, understand, practice, and teach God’s Word to these kids. Pray that they would love the Lord supremely and the children well. Pray that as the children are taught God’s Word, they would have eyes to see, ears to hear, hearts to believe, wills to submit, and actions that obey. Pray for the parents of the children: that they would faithfully live out the truth of God’s Word, teach it at home, and not provoke their children to anger but raise their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord (Eph 6:4).
