God our Heavenly Father,
We praise you and thank you for your mercies that are new every morning and your faithfulness that has been the stronghold of all our lives.
Father, there nothing is hidden from you. You know us inside and out, better than we know of ourselves. You graciously brought us into existence that we might know you and experience your love and mercy. You know of our motives, the thoughts, attitudes, intentions and the recurring sad story of poor unbiblical responses to life’s situations.
Just like our forefathers of Genesis 6, the intent of the thoughts of our hearts are only continually evil because of our sinful nature. We still have the depraved, violent, abhorrent, abominable and other sinful inclinations as people of the flesh.
And yet, as those washed by the blood of your sinless Son and our Lord Jesus Christ, your Holy Spirit helps us to stay in the battle against sin. In spite of being continually undeserving, because of your faithfulness, your mercies are there for our taking every single day, hour, minute, second and nano second – for us to rely on and draw strength from to run our race for the day. We thank you for that.
We praise you for your thoughts that are precious toward us. We thank you for your incomprehensible love.
Father, please forgive our presumptuous sins, the times when we have taken for granted your grace, our sins of commission and omission. Please help us to walk as children of light.
We surrender ourselves at your feet. Please continue to search us and know our hearts as you always do. We surrender our anxious thoughts about various things of life in your hands. If we are clinging to anything or anyone that has the potential to lead us astray from you, please remove it far from us and lead us in the everlasting way.
Thank you for protecting us thus far. Please keep us above reproach in Christ Jesus till you come or call us home.
Please help us to seek first the kingdom of God and your righteousness. Please help us to love you by obeying your commandments.
Please help us to be the flavorful salt and the lamp that is set on a lampstand giving light all around, for the glory of God.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
