Elder's Prayer

Taken from Psalm 103: 6-14

Our lord and our God, You are righteous in all your deeds, in all that you do, your present plans and future.  You lift up and are mindful of the oppressed. You made Your ways known to Moses and Israel and You make Your ways known to us through Your word. We thank You and praise You for providing us guidance, direction and knowledge of You by giving us Your word.

We praise You as You are compassionate, gracious, kind and slow to anger.  We are also thankful that, one day, our sin will end forever, and You will no longer contend with us regarding our sinfulness. We will be with You for eternity and in Your presence.  In the present, we praise You for providing our Savior, and, by Your grace and mercy, for not giving us the just reward that our iniquities deserved.

You have forgiven us in Christ, as far as the east is from the west and have removed the condemnation that once deservedly hung over our heads.

You have compassion on those who fear You with a humble, grateful and reverential fear. You know that we are but dust and are merciful to us.

In Jesus’ name I pray….
