Elder's Prayer

Lord of all creation and God of all glory, the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end, we praise you, for all glory, honor and power belongs to you. We were created for your glory.

Father, who are we and what do we have that we have not received from you? (John 3:27; 1 Corinthians 4:7). We did nothing and could do nothing to earn our salvation. Hopelessness, darkness, spiritual blindness, wrath of God and condemnation were our inheritance. Yet, because of your great love, you have graciously saved us from the bondages of sinand death. Our sins that were as red as a scarlet and crimson because of our darkened souls, are now as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18)in Christ Jesus. Thank you.

When diving headlong into the bottomless pit was the only thing we knew, you brought us up from the pit of destruction, out of miry clay and set our feet upon the rock, making our once wandering and wobbly footsteps firm (Psalm 40:2). Thank you for securely holding our souls in your loving hands.

Father, we who once were without hope are now full of hope trusting in your promises and drawing strength for our souls from your faithfulness that one day, we who once were powerless and enslaved to sin and now slaves of God by your grace, will be presented before you holy, blameless and above reproach in the power of the Holy Spirit, having been washed by the blood of the Lamb and kept in Christ Jesus.  We thank you and praise you for that. (Colossians 1:22; Jude 1:24-25)

We long for that day when we will be untouched by sin and its effects in deepest recesses of our souls. We long for the day when the fallen world will be no more.

Come Lord Jesus. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. We would rather stand at the threshold of the house of our God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness (Psalm 84:10).

We praise you Lord God because you are the sun and shield; and you give grace and glory; you will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly.O Lord of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You! (Psalm 84:11-12) and how blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD! (Psalm 33:12)

Until you come for us or call us home, please establish our footsteps in your word, and do not let any iniquity have dominion over us. (Psalm 119:133).

We are yours. Please help us to walk in a manner worthy of our calling as your children, putting off the deeds of the flesh and putting on the fruit of the Spirit. Please help us to walk in a manner of worthy of who you are, our God and Father.

We pray this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
