Our God and Father we do praise your name.
We praise your name because your name alone is worthy to be praised.
You formed the universe with merely your words.
You scooped up the dust, forming it into man, and breathed life into dust, making us in your image.
All of creation testifies that you are worthy of praise, all of creation bows to your sovereign will.
The galaxies shine forth at your command, the stars continue to burn for your glory, the planets continue in their orbits because you tell them to.
But we, the dirt that we are, in defiance we would resist you.
But you are worthy to be praised because in your grace, mercy, and love – you have not left us in our sad state of rebellion.
You have shown, demonstrated your love for us once for all in sending your Son to die for us while we were still sinners.
Praise be to your name.
Praise be to your name because you planned salvation from eternity past, setting your electing love upon your people. And you accomplished redemption, salvation for your people through your Son and you graciously apply that salvation to your people through your Spirit.
You are worthy of praise.
Your wisdom and glory continue to be put on display for the world through the church. As we gather together, we represent you to the world, you are here in our midst, your Spirit indwelling your people individually and congregationally – we are the body of Christ. We bear your name.
And we praise your name this morning and we pray in the name of Christ together, amen.
