Elder's Prayer

Our Father and our God, we are here to praise You this morning. May our praise be sincere, genuine and from a heart of gratitude. We are Yours, You have purchased our salvation with the cost of Your only Son.

Thank You for allowing us the privilege and honor of standing in Your presence, through no achievement or good performance of our own. Entirely by Your good pleasure You have demonstrated Your mercy and kindness to us. You are good and it is because of Your goodness that we will one day see You face to face.

You are greater than all the so-called gods of men. As Your word also tells us, those gods cannot speak, they cannot see, they cannot hear and they have no breath.  They are merely idols, made by mere men who chase after them in their ignorance of truth.

In Your sovereignty and greatness, You do whatever pleases You in heaven and all the earth. And because You are good, we can have a settled confidence in You and trust You with our lives now and in the future.

We ask that our worship and songs this morning would be lovely and pleasing to You from sincere hearts.

In Jesus’ name…
