Elder's Prayer

Father, as we come before You today, we give thanks for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord-and for all the souls You have saved.

We offer praises to you with joyful lips, remembering what it means to find satisfaction in You alone.

Just as King David sought sanctuary in you in the wilderness of Judah-in that dry and thirsty land-may we too seek sanctuary in You when we face the trials of this life.

May our souls thirst for You, our flesh yearn for You-that we may see Your power and glory.

May we rest in the knowledge that your lovingkindness is better than life.

We know that no matter the circumstances in each of our lives we can trust in you now and forever because of the death, resurrection and immanent return of our Lord.

When we lie down at night, may we meditate on the truth of Your Word and find rest knowing that you have been our help, and we are in the shadow of Your wings.

Our souls cling to you and you uphold us with Your right hand
You are our rock and our salvation
Our hope is in You-our stronghold that will not be shaken
Strength belongs to you alone and to you alone belongs lovingkindness.

May our souls always seek and find rest and contentment in You all the days of our lives-We pray this in Christ’s Holy name.

-Amen
