Let’s pray,
Our Father, what a joy to sing your praise. You are worthy of our whole hearted, full throated praise. You are worthy of every tongue lifting up your name, exalting you with the highest, loudest, sweetest praise possible.
You have been so faithful – every word you have spoken is true, every promise you have made you have and you will keep. You are worthy of our praise You are clothed in majesty, holiness, splendor, glory. Might we sing accordingly
You have loved us with an everlasting love, from before time, demonstrated in Christ, worked out by your Spirit. How can we not sing? You command us to sing your praise. That should be enough – that is good enough reason You have made us, purchased us. You are full of infinite wisdom and love. So if you command it, that should be enough for us to gladly, compellingly bring forth the highest praise. But for those us belonging to you we are internally compelled, driven by the work of your Spirit to sing, joyfully.
As we are filled with the Spirit, as the Word of Christ dwells richly within us, we sing to you, we give thanks to you, we sing of you to one another instructing one another, admonishing one another with the truth of your Word. Might that continue to be so this morning. And might we be edified and encouraged with the truths we sing and might you receive all the glory.
In Christ’s name amen.
