Elder's Prayer

Father as we gather this morning may the words of the apostle Paul be on our hearts as he reminded us to rejoice in you always-because you are always near.

When we bring our prayers and supplications, as we do this morning, with thankful hearts, we are reminded that your peace, which passes all comprehension will guard our hearts.

When we wait patiently on you, you hear our cry and set our feet upon rock, making our footsteps firm.

You put a new song in our mouths, singing praises to you-Our great God causing many to see and fear and put their trust in You.

We find blessing when we meditate on all the wonders You have done.

There is no one who compares with You-Your deeds are too numerous to count.

You have not withheld Your compassion from us-Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve us.

When we lay down, we need not be afraid and our sleep will be sweet, thanks to You.

When we awake, may our thoughts continually be on You and what you have revealed to true, honorable, pure and good.

What we have heard and seen and learned and received-may we endeavor to practice those things always, knowing that when we do, they bring peace and contentment.

It is in You and You alone that we can find contentment, no matter the circumstances we face-always remembering that You sustain us, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

We look to Him today and His finished work on the Cross on which we rest and by which we are made eternally secure.

And it is in His Holy name that we give thanks - Amen
