Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father-as we come before you today may we bask in your eternal love that has been demonstrated to us at the Cross of Calvary.

It is because of your love, the curse we were once under has been broken-it was finished at the Cross-the price has been paid-we, who are in Christ, having been fully pardoned.

Each of us once stood condemned, but because of your mercy towards us there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

31 What shall we say then-how are we to respond to this truth?

This morning and every day you give us on this earth, may we respond by trusting in the assurance of the salvation you provided, no matter what trials and sorrow we will surely face in this life.

We come before you this morning resting in knowing that since You are for us, none can be against us.

Your promise was made sure when You did not spare Your Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how then will we not be freely given all things?

Lord, who are we to fear? Who can bring a charge against Your elect? The answer is no one, because it is You alone who justifies;

No one on this earth can condemn us because it was Christ Jesus who died, was raised, and is seated at Your right hand, interceding on our behalf.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? There is no tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword can separate us from His love.

neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from Your love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We bow before you this morning Lord, giving thanks to you who created all things-you alone who has the power to grant us the assurance of salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray-Amen.
