Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

God our Heavenly Father,

We praise and thank you for allowing us to see this day and enjoy the goodness of the Lord here on the Earth.

You have been kind to Summit Woods throughout this year in 2022.

  • We thank you for teaching us on prayer, the blessed privilege we have to adore you for who you are in our words, posture and attitude, to confess our sins fully understanding our depraved nature, to give thanks for everything for we are undeserving of it all and to make supplications by pouring our hearts out at your feet.
  • Thank you, Lord God for the medium of prayer.
  • We thank you for using Paul’s letter to a 1st century Church in Thessalonica to teach us to grow in what we know: to continue the work of faith, to continue our labor in love and in the steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father.
  • We thank you for your timeless and yet timely truths from your Holy Word.
  • We thank you for teaching us from the book of Exodus who our God is and how we can relate to Him.
  • Please bless the remainder of our Exodus study when next Summer comes along.

Gracious God, we thank you for the brothers and sisters who have been growing with us in Christ Jesus for many years and decades together. We thank you for the new brothers and sisters that you have brought in our midst this year.

May our God ordained numeric growth also mean growth in our genuine love for Christ, His word and His people and may we be grounded deep down in God’s Holy Word.

As we practice the “One another’s” from your word, please help us to be Christlike and God honoring.

Father, teach us to seek and value your approval more than the approval of men.

We thank you for the exemplified life of Christ in the pages of Scripture. Please, with the help of the Holy Spirit, may we live, pray, serve and glorify God in our obedience like our Master Lord Jesus Christ did.

Please help us to grow in the grace of Jesus. May repentance and deep joy mark our lives.

Please help us to continue increasing in the knowledge of Christ Jesus. Please bless our study of Scripture, at home and under the Lord’s day teaching. Please reveal more truths about our great Savior. Please overcome us with Jesus.

Please help us to experience unique grace and growth in our respective roles as men and women of God.

We praise you for your active care in our lives since our birth till now. We look forward to remaining the undeserved recipients of your grace and mercy all the days of lives. To you be all glory. In Christ’ name, we pray, Amen.
