Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father God,

We praise you and thank you for your steadfast love toward us. We thank you for the privilege of fellowshipping with you through Christ’s work on the cross as the propitiation for our sins.

We thank you for accepting Christ’s perfect sacrifice, forgiving our sins and covering us in His righteousness.

Please help us to practice the truth, righteousness and walk in the light by keeping your word.

Please give us deep hatred for sin and any behavior that grieves the Holy Spirit.

Please continue to help us to overcome the evil desires, to not love the world or things in the world.

Please protect us from the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life.

Please abide in us even as we abide in you through the continual work of the Holy Spirit so that we can have the confidence and not shrink away in shame at your coming.

We thank you and praise you for your great love upon us. Please help us to imitate you in loving our brethren in a Christlike manner.

Lord God almighty, please reveal our blind spots and help us guard ourselves from the idols.

Father, at this time we would like to lift up those who have been displaced because of war in Ukraine. We pray specifically for our brothers and sisters in Christ, living in that country and in refugee camps in other countries. Please heal their pain and may they find comfort in Jesus.

We pray that, if it’s your will, this war will end, and all of the displaced will be able to go back to their homes, provide for them to rebuild and may they be able to live peaceably.

I pray for many of our families here in the States and across the world struggling to care for their families due to high inflation. I also remember the retirees and fixed income families. Please have mercy on them and continue to provide for them.

Your word does inform us of the perils of the last days, we thank you and praise you that we are never alone. You are always with us even to end of the age. We thank you for that.

Merciful God, if there are any, in our midst, worried and anxious of their future for whatever reason, please comfort them in you and help them to cast their burdens upon you.

We praise you that your providence covers every single detail of our lives. We thank you for being our ever-present help now and forever.

We give you thanks and honor. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
