Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father, on the occasion of this earthly Father’s Day, thank you for the father’s you have given us, according to your providence and plan.

In your sovereign plan, through great times and also challenging times for some, you have used these men to guide us and direct us, to the place we are today. For that we thank you Lord.

This day, we would especially like to thank you for modeling for us what a father’s heart should be.

Thank you for your loving kindness that only wants for us what brings glory to you and is for our good.

and that you love us enough to discipline us in order that we would walk closer to you.

Thank you for your provision for us and that you provide for our every need.

Thank you for your mercy and grace and that you have provided the way of salvation for us through your Son.

That you have made it possible for us to come into your presence because of Christ’s righteousness bestowed us, your children.

Lord, unlike our earthly fathers, you are omnipresent and with us at all times, you see all of our hurts and care for us.

You see all of our short comings, yet still love us.

You are omniscient, and know us better than we know ourselves, because of this, you always know what is best for us.

You are omnipotent, and not only know what is best for us, but, are able to provide it.

Finally Father, you are holy… we are like you in so many ways, yet, also unlike you in so many ways.

You are holy and we are not…yet, even as wretched sinners, you have poured out your love upon us and made us acceptable through your Son, Jesus.

For this, we praise you and thank you as we are awesomely blessed to call you Father….In Christ’s name we pray...
