Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Blessed Father and our God Almighty, you are the source of our happiness, our maker, benefactor, and sustainer. Your hand leads us in every situation of our lives with no exception and meets our needs. While we are not guaranteed another day, we are guaranteed to receive new mercies from you if, by your grace, we live to see it. We thank you for your faithfulness.

We lift up before you some of our members who could use our collective prayer support this morning.

We pray for our former elder Gerald Wheatley who is homebound and going through rehab from the recent falls. Please ease his intense back pain and help him with oxygen intake. If it’s your will, please grant your servant a quality of life for the remainder of his days.

We pray for Miss. Ann Sisson. Thank you for strengthening her mind, body and will in you that she could go through surgeries to remove cancer. Please continue to strengthen her as she goes through radiation and various other treatments related to cancer. Above all, please help to have her eyes fixed on you through this tough time.

We thank you for the divine provisions, healing and grace that John Ward has experienced with his recent battle with severe pneumonia and issues with the lung. Thank you for giving doctors on the cruise ship as well as in Mobile, Alabama wisdom to diagnose correctly and take the necessary steps quickly. Thank you for the smooth transfer of care to KC doctors. Thank you that your servant could be here with us today.

We pray for Ms. Virginia Bell. Please keep her body from any infections. May her body continue to build immunity and fight off any potential infections.

Thank you for the strength you provided Judy Logan through her surgeries and recovery. Thank you also for the job you blessed her with recently.

Our hearts are heavy remembering Katie’s Esry’s step sister and her husband and the toughest decision they would have to make regarding their unborn baby. If it has not happened yet, please have mercy on the little one. Please use this situation to bring the mom and dad into saving faith in Jesus Christ. Please use Chris, Katie, Danny & baby Isaac as salt and light to lead other family members unto Christ.

We lift up McGee family neighbors at the loss of their family leader Mr. Mike. Please comfort and strengthen his wife Ms. Susie and the rest of the family in you.

We pray for Gary Tormanen. Thank you for sustaining him through the bone marrow transplant. Please help with his recovery. Protect him from any illness as his body build back his immunity. Please grant him grace to overcome the side effects of this treatment. As he’s home bound and recovers, I pray that his soul will prosper in the Lord.

We pray for the many unspoken requests. Please grant us grace to keep running this race in such a way that we will win the prize.

We remember the upcoming VBS next week. Please bless the preparations and the much prayer that goes into this event. Please may this next week not only bring lasting memories of fun and games but may the seeds that the teachers sow into these little hearts that you highly value, bear fruit 100-fold in your time.

Our times are in your hands. We submit to your will joyfully. Use us as you see fit. In your Son’s name we pray, Amen.
