Assurance-Romans 8

Lord we gather this morning to praise our Redeemer and to sing of the glories of our God and King

He who speaks life into our dead hearts

The one who forgives us of our sins and breaks the power of its hold on us

Your grace triumphs, and because of it, as your word tells us, those who are in Christ are no longer under sin’s condemnation

Our sins have been pardoned and our future is assured

If You are for us Lord, who can be against us?

You did not spare Your own Son, but You delivered Him over for us all-how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Who can bring a charge against your chosen people-those whom you have saved by your gracious sovereign hand?

Your hand has made all things, and you alone have the power to judge your creation

You, O Lord, are the one who justifies-and it is because of your grace alone that we are counted as righteous

That is your decree, not ours-we are saved by your grace, not our own works

That is music to our ears-it’s life and health and peace because it is your will that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ

Not tribulation, or distress-not persecution, or famine-not nakedness, or peril, or sword-though they may certainly come, in all these things we are able to overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For, as the apostle Paul says, neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

The one in whom have eternal assurance and the one in whose name we pray-Amen-Men-at this time, please gather the morning offering
