Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Father thank you for the gift of saving faith. As your Word tells us, it is by your grace we have been saved. And because of your grace, when we come to know you as Lord and Savior, there is a transformation that causes us to increasingly desire to obey you and to submit our lives to your will.

And one of those signs of obedience is to outwardly proclaim our faith through baptism. To do so is an indication of true repentance and regeneration. And when we witness the baptism of believers, we, as a church have the privilege and pleasure of supporting and affirming our brothers and sisters in Christ.

As the Apostle Paul tells us when we are baptized, we are baptized into our Lord’s death. And just as he was raised from the dead, so are we into a newness of life.

Through baptism, we illustrate the life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

For that, we give thanks to you this day and pray for Tony and Maggie, and for all of us whom you’ve saved, that we would continue to walk in faith and obedience, praising and glorifying you in all that we do.
