Elder's Prayer

Please find below the notes from the Elder's Prayer this past Sunday.

Ephesians 3:14-21-Intercession/Petition

Father you are our mighty fortress-our bulwark never failing.

Our only true hope in the midst of life’s seemingly never-ending struggles.

Each of us will all face different challenges at different times.

As long as we are on this earth, there will be death, there will be sickness, there will be all manner of trials that will grieve us or perhaps cause us to doubt You.

There will be many temptations of the flesh that lure and entice us toward sinful responses to our desires.

We will have expectations of friends, of family members or perhaps government that won’t be met-how will we respond?

It is for these and many more reasons that we bow our knees before You today, Father, seeking you now and always in times of challenge.

We ask that You grant us, according to the riches of Your glory, strength through the power of Your Spirit who dwells within us.

We pray that Christ would dwell in our hearts through faith; and that we would be rooted and grounded in His love,

That in all circumstances, we would know the love of Christ which surpasses all knowledge and be filled with your fullness O Lord.

It is to You we pray-the one who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think,

The one who enables us to respond in submission and obedience, not by our own strength, but according to Your power that works within us,

To You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to us and to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
