Our Tuesday morning men's training, Men of the Word, will resume September 5, 6:00 am to 7:30 am. (Student Center). We will be focusing on teaching and preaching Scripture. Using John MacArthur's book on Preaching, we will define expository preaching, examine some of the history of preaching, discuss how prayer undergirds preparation and the act of preaching, as well as cover how to study, arrange, prepare and deliver a lesson from Scripture. In our time together we will be doing specific studies of passages that I will be preaching from on Sundays and reviewing how and why I constructed the sermon as I did.

The aim of our time together will not necessarily to make preachers out of everyone. We will aim to help you learn some of the mechanics of good Bible study and how to take what you study and communicate it effectively. This will help you grasp the word, use it in effectively communicating it to your family, lead a Bible study, or even simply study the word with a friend.

Men of the Word is open to any of the men in our church. Limited copies of the book we will use can be found in our resource room, or you can secure it online. Consider joining us as we learn to dig deeper into Scripture.
